Ok. Let's be honest here...the 4th of July is probably the least eco-friendly holiday on the calendar, right?

And there is one reason, and one reason alone for that...

Fireworks.

So even though eco-friendlier fireworks are making their way into the market, I'm not going to insult your intelligence by telling you that you can make this year a "green 4th of July".

Instead, what I am going to do is share some great ideas with you to that will be sure to help you have green(ER) fun this 4th of July.

Starting your own compost pile is one of the best ways to save money and cut down on the use of harmful chemicals around your home.

The quest to save the planet...

Is it really about saving the planet or saving ourselves?

In either case, a Texas restaraunt and bar chain called Little Woodrow's has a motive I can definitely get behind.

With Earth Hour, Earth Day, and St. Patrick's Day (the day o' green), there are so many great execuses to begin living greener in the spring time.

Spring is always an awesome time for the planet.

Earth Hour is coming up on March 28th and Earth Day won't be far behind, on April 22nd.

So what does that mean?

Gas prices aren't even close to the $4+ a gallon we saw last summer and fall, but does that mean we don't still want to get better gas mileage?

Of course we do!

I invested a mere $.75--3 little quarters--in my car this past week and got an astounding 7 miles more per gallon!
